Homeownership is always in fashion but with a slight variation. As long as humans need habitabily a house must exist, it is only a matter of “WHO” owns it. Some people are will to be renter and let others own. Based upon the basic laws of suppliy and demand that will drive the prices for rentals up. That means that there will be increasing demands for investors as home owners. As rental rates go up many consumer will regret not buying the house and stablizying their future. It seems to me that have controlled costs has been slowly erroded away as a reason to own but It was my first reason to buy many years ago. My wife and I wanted to stop the constant raises in rents our landlord keep giving us. As you stated we have amazingly low interest rates and tremendous pricing of houses. One of the basic rules of investing is to buy low and sell high. Well it doesn’t get much better than NOW
